Binghamton, NY - Jack Hillen's first two goals of the season, included the game-winner with ten seconds remaining in regulation time helped the Sound Tigers defeat the Binghamton Senators by the score of 6-5. Jesse Joensuu, Mike Iggulden, Trevor Smith and Jamie Fraser each had one tally for the Sound Tigers while Peter Mannino turned aside 25 shots to earn the victory. Kaspars Daugavins, Shawn Weller and Ryan Shannon each had one goal for the Senators and Ilya Zubov contributed two for Binghamton.

In the same fashion they did last night, the Sound Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Joensuu, who was inserted into the lineup tonight, made his presence felt when he scored his third goal of the season, only two seconds after the team's power-play had expired. Andrew MacDonald sent a soft dump-in behind the net to Mike Iggulden where he took the puck, beat a defenseman and came out along the left post. Iggulden found Joensuu at the back-door where he one-timed the puck past Glass for the 1-0 lead. Hillen would double the Sound Tigers' lead while on a 5-on-3 advantage. Blake Comeau skated out of the right corner and fed the pass to Hillen at the point. Hillen walked in, waiting for Mark Parrish to set a screen in front, and wristed a shot over Glass' glove for his first tally of the season coming with 4:40 left in the opening frame. Kurtis McLean also assisted on the marker, giving the Sound Tigers a goal on the man-advantage in each of the last nine games.

Iggulden would make it 3-0 in favor of the Sound Tigers only 1:41 into the second period when he converted his team-leading sixth tally of the season, coming on the power-play. Mark Parrish found Iggulden at the back post where he caught the puck, forcing Glass to slide from post-to-post, and snapped it across the grain and into the net. The Senators would finally get on the board just over four minutes into the middle frame when Daugavins blasted a slap-shot from the top of the left circle past Mannino for his first of the season. The goal was unassisted making the score 3-1. Smith would regain the three-goal lead for the Sound Tigers at 8:25 when his centering pass to Iggulden went off of Binghamton defenseman, Brendan Bell's skate and past Glass for his fourth goal of the season. McLean and MacDonald would have the helpers on the tally. Binghamton would answer, cutting the lead in half, on a goal by Weller, his first of the season, on assists from Greg Mauldin and Chaz Johnson, 13:36 into the period. The Sound Tigers would score once more before the period would end when Fraser fired a slap-shot from the left point, through a screen and past Glass for his first marker of the season. Comeau and Tim Jackman would have the assists on the goal.

Zubov and the Senators would make it interesting in the final period of regulation tying the score at 5-5. Zubov would tally two goals within three minutes of each other, his fourth and fifth of the season to make the score 5-4. Shannon would tie it at five with his fifth goal while Binghamton was on the man-advantage. With the Sound Tigers reeling after letting the Senators back in the game, Hillen would end the game with his second of the contest and season to win the game for the Sound Tigers, 6-5. Jeremy Colliton had the lone assist on Hillen's game-winning goal.

With the win, the Sound Tigers improve to 7-2-0-1 and now have 15 points this season. Mannino finished the game with 25 saves on 30 shots while Glass turned aside 32 shots. The Sound Tigers were 2-for 9 on the power-play and went 4-for-5 on the penalty-kill.

The bus ride awaits as the Sound Tigers will travel home from Binghamton to Bridgeport tonight in preparation of their third home game of the season, tomorrow against Albany River Rats. Game-time is scheduled for 4 p.m. Tickets are still available by calling the Sound Tigers' front office at (203) 334-GOAL or online at ticketmaster.com.
