
'Dogs hang on for 5-3 victory

Rochester, NY - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Rochester Americans 5-3 at Blue Cross Arena o increase their winning streak to three games. Cedrick Desjardins made 39 saves while five different Bulldogs' players scored to lead Hamilton past the Amerks.
The Americans opened the scoring at 3:06 of the opening frame. Doug O'Brien held the puck at the right point before blasting a shot towards the net. Karl Stewart got his stick on the puck, deflecting it past Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins to give the Americans a 1-0 lead.
The Bulldogs tied the game 1-1 on a goal by Matt D'Agostini at 17:09 of the first stanza. Yanick Lehoux sent a pass to D'Agostini but the puck hit the leg of a Rochester defender and landed near the side of the net. D'Agostini spun around to grab the loose puck and put it past Rochester starting goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu. 45 seconds later Greg Stewart added his second goal of the season. Dan Jancevski fed a pass to Stewart, who was skating down the left side. Stewart snapped a shot that beat Beckford-Tseu over the left shoulder to give the âDogs a 2-1 lead.
Mike Glumac added the Bulldogs' third goal while on the power play at 10:43 of the second stanza. Following a scrum in front of the Amerks' net, Glumac jammed the puck underneath Beckford-Tseu for his fifth goal of the season. David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty also earned assists on the play and Pacioretty extended his point streak to three games. 27 seconds later Brock Trotter scored to increase the Hamilton's lead to 4-1. Yannick Weber hammered a shot from the point that Beckford-Tseu was able to save but Trotter banged in the bouncing puck for the goal.
Rochester Head Coach Benoit Groulx elected to replace Chris Beckford-Tseu with Tyler Plante following the Bulldogs' fourth goal.
Rochester cut the lead in half at 12:41 of the middle frame. Immediately following a face-off, Jason Garrison fired a shot from the point that was tipped by Mike Duco in front of the net. The puck sailed past Desjardins to make the game 4-2.
Tanner Glass added the Amerks third goal of the night at 16:00 of the final frame while the âDogs were on a delayed penalty. Following a tic-tac-toe passing play, Jacob Micflikier sent a pass to Glass who blasted a shot that beat Desjardin.
Kyle Chipchura added an empty net goal with 1 second remaining in the game to seal the win for the Hamilton Bulldogs.
