Hernandez and Wong Homer as WooSox Win Again

Worcester scored the first run of the game on an RBI single from Devlin Granberg in the second inning.

The RailRiders tied the game in the bottom of the second when Phillip Evans singled home a run.

In the third inning, Hernandez hit a three-run home run. Two batters later, Wong blasted an opposite-field shot. Tonight was Wong's first game since July 29.

Scranton responded with two runs in the bottom of the third. Oswald Peraza slugged a solo homer. Rob Brantly also drove in a run with a double to make it a 5-3 Worcester lead.

The RailRiders tied the game in the fifth inning when a pair of runners crossed the plate. One came in on another RBI double from Brantly. The other scored on a double by Armando Alvarez.

Worcester plated a pair in the sixth when both Abraham Almonte and Enmanuel Valdez drew walks with the bases loaded to give the WooSox a 7-5 lead.

Ben Rortvert knocked in a run with a double in the seventh to make it 7-6.

In his third start since returning from the injured list, Connor Seabold went 4.2 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits, while walking one batter and striking out six.

Zack Kelly tossed two scoreless innings for a six-out save.

Worcester is now 16-16 in one-run games.
