Heredia Placed on DL, Marquez Transferred to Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Tuesday that Charleston RiverDogs right-handed pitcher Jairo Heredia has been placed on the DL, and right-handed pitcher Dickson Marquez has been transferred to Charleston from Short-Season Staten Island.

Heredia has started nine games for the RiverDogs thus far this season. The 6'1" right-hander has posted a 3-2 record and 4.40 ERA, surrendering 51 hits and 23 earned runs, with 41 strikeouts and 13 walks, in a total of 47.0 innings on the mound. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native was named the No. 29 prospect in the Yankees' organization prior to the 2010 campaign by Baseball America.

Marquez, a San Cristobal, Dominican Republic native, has posted a 0-4 record, with one save, in 14 appearances this season with the RiverDogs. The 6'2" hurler surrendered 24 hits and 17 earned runs, with 10 walks, 10 strikeouts in a total of 18.2 innings of work.
