HICKORY, NC - The Crawdads are coming off back-to-back wins over the Delmarva Shorebirds on Sunday and Monday. With a 2-0 win on Monday, the 'Dads have hurled their fourth shutout victory of the second half and 11th of the season.
The Crawdads are currently 7-5 to begin the second half of the 2010 season, putting them in a tie for second place in the Northern Division with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 2.5 games behind the Lakewood BlueClaws for first. Hickory remains second in the overall standings at 47-35.

Lexington 6 vs. HICKORY 5
The Crawdads scored five runs in the second inning, but fell short to Lexington, 6-5. RHP Sam Brown and RHP Johan Yan made their Hickory debuts out of the bullpen, each pitching two innings.
Wednesday, June 30
HICKORY 7 vs. Lexington 4
RF Joe Bonadonna and 3B Matt West each hit a home run to power the 'Dads to the 7-4 final score. RHP Braden Tullis made his first start of the season and RHP Tyler Tufts picked up his first win in relief for the 'Dads.
Thursday, July 1
Lexington 6 vs. HICKORY 3
The Legends scored four runs in the fifth on three straight hits, compounded by an error by 1B Ed Koncel and another single against starter LHP Robbie Ross. RHP Johnny Gunter pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in his Hickory debut.
Friday, July 2
HICKORY 5 vs. Lexington 0
RHP Jake Brigham, LHP Robbie Erlin and RHP Sam Brown combined to toss the Crawdads 10th shutout win of the season, and third already in the second half. C Leonel De Los Santos went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Saturday, July 3
Lexington 4 vs. HICKORY 1
Hickory scored their lone run of the ballgame on SS Edwin Garcia's first home run in his professional career. The Crawdads had a scoring chance with the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Lexington closer RHP Kirk Clark struck got out of the jam to end the game, 4-1.
Sunday, July 4
Hickory 5 vs. DELMARVA 2
The Crawdads scored four runs in the fourth inning to propel them to a 5-2 win over the Shorebirds on 4th of July evening. C Zach Zaneski drove in three runs on his second home run of the season. RHP Neil Ramirez allowed two runs on nine hits and a walk while fanning six in seven innings on the mound to pick up the win for Hickory.
Monday, July 5
Hickory 2 vs. DELMARVA 0
RHP Braden Tullis and LHP Joseph Ortiz combined to toss the Crawdads 11th shutout of the season and fourth already of the second half. OF Jared Bolden (with a single) and 1B Mike Ortiz (with a home run) drove in the 'Dads two runs.
VELAZQUEZ PROMOTED TO BAKERSFIELD
All-Star CF Miguel Velazquez was promoted by the Rangers to High-A Bakersfield of the California League on Thursday. Velazquez, 22, hit .270 with 10 home runs and 53 RBIs in 71 games with Hickory. He led the team in RBIs and was second to LF Cristian Santana in homers. The native of San Juan, Puerto Rico was selected in the 19th round of the 2006 June draft by the Texas Rangers out of Instituto Comercial de Puerto Rico JC.
