Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Hens opened up a six-game road trip with a loss Thursday night, falling to the Louisville Bats, 5-2 at Louisville Slugger Field.

Toledo was able to strike first, as Hernan Perez singled home Jordan Lennerton in the second to give the Hens an early 1-0 advantage. But the Bats would even the score in third and scored the go-ahead run in the fifth to put Toledo behind for good.

Jair Jurrjens was tagged with a loss after giving up three runs in six innings of work. It was Jurrjens' first quality start with the Hens since joining the club on July 24, despite the losing effort.

Offensively the Hens struggled to support Jurrjens, producing just one run on six hits. Of Toledo's six hits, two were credited to Perez, who extended his hit streak to nine games. He has hit successfully in every game since joining the Mud Hens on August 13.

Toledo will square off with Louisville once again tomorrow night. RHP Jon Link (0-4, 7.20 ERA) will start the game for the Hens.
