Buffalo Bisons News Release

The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF MAURO GOMEZ has been activated off the disabled list. The Toronto Blue Jays also announced that they have signed free agent OF RYAN LANGERHANS to a minor league deal. Langerhans has been activated by the Bisons.

GOMEZ has been out of the lineup for 18 games after being placed on the disabled list on August 4. The International League All-Star leads the Bisons with 28 home runs and 67 games. Despite the time he has missed, Gomez is only one home run behind Syracuse's Zach Walters for the most in the International League. His 67 RBI are tied for the 8th-most in the circuit.

Overall, Gomez has averaged .243 (87-358) in 97 games for the Bisons. He also leads the club with 46 extra-base hits and is fourth with 55 runs scored.

LANGERHANS began the season with the Bisons and hit .220 (37-168) with nine home runs and 25 RBI in 51 games before being released on June 21. The veteran then signed with the Sugarland Skeeters of the Independent Atlantic League and averaged .283 (32-113) with 10 doubles, a triple, four home runs and 25 RBI in 36 games.
