Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The clubs will also play three games in two days in Lehigh Valley starting Monday. The Bisons have lost three in a row but are 37-30 against the IL North.

Playoff Push

Pawtucket won last night over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to increase their lead to 2.5 games over Norfolk for the IL Wild Card. The Bisons are tied with the IronPigs, 4.0 games out of the Wild Card and 4.5 games behind Rochester in the IL North Division.

The Bisons are 6-3 against the IronPigs this year with a perfect 5-0 record at Coca-Cola Park. Lehigh Valley, meanwhile, took three of four games in their last trip to Buffalo, June 4-7. Herd hurlers have combined to post a 2.55 ERA against the IronPigs this year.

Back on the Bump

RHP CHIEN-MING WANG has pitched at least 6.0 innings in seven of his eight starts with the Bisons. He worked six frames and allowed just two runs to defeat Rochester his last time out on August 16. The veteran has a 3.18 ERA with the Herd. Combined with his time with the RailRiders earlier this year, Wang has the 3rd best ERA (2.72) in the IL.

Blue Jays Bound

Toronto recalled OF MOISES SIERRA yesterday and today promoted INF RYAN GOINS. Sierra hit .261 in 100 game with the Herd and was second on the club with 57 runs scored. Goins played in a team-best 111 contests and made just nine errors at shortstop.

First Impression

OF BRAD GLENN has reached base 11 times in his first six games with the Bisons. He has a double and a home run in his first six Triple-A hits. Glenn has also walked five times for a .458 on-base pct. He drew 44 walks in 111 games while with New Hampshire to begin the year.

Bisons Bits

INF CLINT ROBINSON brings a seven-game hit streak into tonight's game. The veteran has averaged .348 (8-23) since August 14...RHP JUSTIN GERMANO tossed 3.0 shutout innings in his first relief appearance for the Bisons on Tuesday. The veteran leads the Herd in quality starts (22) and strikeouts (99).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (57-70) suffered their fourth-straight defeat with a 4-2 loss to the Yankees. Former Bisons RHP R.A. DICKEY went the distance and struck out nine in the loss. C JOSH THOLE hit his first homer of the year. The Blue Jays take on New York again tonight at 7:07 p.m.
