May 25, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release

The Mud Hens dropped the first game of their road trip, losing 4-1 at Pawtucket on Thursday night.

Starter Adam Wilk took the hill for the Hens, allowing two runs and striking out seven for the Hens.

Nate Spears started the scoring with a solo homerun in the second to give the Red Sox an early 1-0 lead. The Sox extended their lead to 2-0 in the fourth courtesy of a Mauro Gomez single.

The Hens cut the Pawtucket lead to one in the seventh after an Audy Ciriaco RBI single made it 2-1. Pawtucket added one more in the bottom of the inning, and then another in the eighth to put the game out of reach for the Hens.

Ben Guez lead the Hens, going 1-4 with a double in his debut after his recent call up to replace Quintin Berry.

The Hens look to rebound tomorrow against Pawtucket. Young Jacob Turner is set to make this third start and first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes

The loss made the Hens fall below .500 for the first time since April 15th.

Rob Waite's scoreless inning streak ended after he allowed two runs over 1.1 innings.

Adam Wilk has struck out at least seven batters in his last two starts.
