Providence, RI -- The Providence Bruins announced today that left wing Jay Henderson and rookie defenseman Shaone ("Sean") Morrisonn have been assigned to the club from the Boston Bruins. Both players will be on the ice on Tuesday for practice and will join the team on its season-opening road trip in Saint John, New Brunswick. The Bruins open the 2002-03 regular season against the Flames on Friday, October 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. Both games can be heard live on WDDZ AM-550.

The Bruins also announced today that right wing Carl Corazzini has been released from the training camp roster and is awaiting assignment to another team. Right wing Dean Stock was also released from the roster.

Henderson, who is entering his fifth professional season, did not play last year due to rehabilitation from two knee surgeries. The 24-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta has 37-44-81 totals in 167 career games with the P-Bruins and is the only player remaining from the 1998-99 Calder Cup championship team. He ranks fifth in franchise history with 504 PIM and is a two-time winner of the team's Community Service Award. Henderson, who was also the P-Bruins' 2001-02 nominee for AHL Man of the Year, has 1-3-4 totals and 37 PIM in 33 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins.

Morrisonn, a 19-year-old native of Vancouver, British Columbia, was Boston's first pick, 19th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. The 6'3", 205-pound Morrisonn had 11-26-37 totals and 106 PIM in 61 games last season with the Kamloops Blazers (WHL).

The Bruins' home opener will be played on Friday, October 18 at 7:05 p.m. against Springfield.
