New Britain, CT- Eric Thames belted his team-leading 19th home run, a two-run shot in the seventh inning to tie the game, 6-6, but the New Britain Rock Cats pieced together five consecutive singles with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, plating three runs en route to a 9-6 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats at New Britain Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

New Hampshire (59-43) clawed back from a 6-2 deficit to tie the game. Adam Loewen (2-for-4, HR, HBP, BB) began the rally by leading off the top of the sixth with a solo homer, his 11th, off Rock Cats' starter Tyler Robertson, making it 6-3.

Facing Cole DeVries in the seventh, Darin Mastroianni lined a one-out opposite-field double, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Adeiny Hechavarria's single to center. Thames (1-for-4, HR, BB, 2 RBI) then knotted the score with his two-run homer to right.

New Britain (30-72) recovered from the blown lead in the bottom of the eighth against losing pitcher Danny Farquhar. Chris Cates, Ben Revere, Brandon Roberts, Chris Parmelee and Jair Fernandez all singled in succession after there were two outs, with the final three singles producing runs for a 9-6 advantage.

Billy Bullock (1-2) notched four strikeouts over two scoreless innings of one-hit baseball to record his first career Eastern League win.

Farquhar (2-3), who was charged with three runs on six hits in 2.2 innings, absorbed the loss. The right-hander tallied one strikeout.

Trailing 3-0 in the top of the fifth, the Fisher Cats scored two runs against Robertson when Mastroianni (1-for-4, 2B, BB, RBI, R) drew a bases-loaded walk and Hechavarria (2-for-4, SF, 2 RBI, R) lined a sacrifice fly, trimming New Britain's lead to 3-2.

Leading off the bottom of the fifth, Roberts blasted Rey Gonzalez's 3-1 offering over the right field wall for his first home run of the season. One out later, Fernandez and Singleton connected for back-to-back doubles for a 5-2 lead. Erik Lis's sac fly upped the lead to 6-2.

The Rock Cats went ahead, 2-0, in the bottom of the first against Gonzalez when Revere reached on an error, Roberts singled, and both runners scored on Parmelee's double into the left-center field gap.

The lead increased to 3-0 in the bottom of the third courtesy of Singleton's sacrifice fly, scoring Roberts (walk).
