Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators racked up 17 hits, and blew out the Portland Sea Dogs, 10-3, to win the four-game weekend series between the two teams, three games to one. The Sens (52-50) led 10-0, before Portland (50-51) scored three runs in the eighth to avoid the shutout. Tom Milone (7-5) threw five and a third shutout innings, allowing just five hits, to earn the victory on the mound. Jeremy Kehrt (2-8) surrendered twelve hits and four earned runs in his five innings, and took the loss.

Six Senators had exactly two hits in the ballgame, and Marvin Lowrance led the way with three. Lowrance also drove in two runs and scored two. Danny Espinosa, Tim Pahuta, Michael Martinez, Devin Ivany, Adam Fox, and Brad Coon were the other Senators with multiple hits. Espinosa drove in three runs, and Fox and Coon each drove in two. Jesus Valdez and Chris Marrero each had a single hit.

The Sens scored one run in the first inning, on a solo homer by Lowrance, and then added at least one run in each inning between the third and eighth, inclusive. Valdez drove in Coon with a single in the third, and then Coon and Espinosa each drove in runs with singles in the fourth. A bases-loaded walk to Coon in the fifth drove in Tim Pahuta, and then Lowrance hit another solo shot in the sixth to make it 6-0. An Espinosa single drove in Ivany and Coon in the seventh, and then Fox doubled home Pahuta and Martinez to put the Sens in front 10-0.

The win puts the Sens two games over .500 heading into their three-game series at New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats were 59-42 heading into Sunday's action. Left-hander Aaron Thompson (4-10, 5.24) gets the start for the Sens in Monday's series opener, which has a 7 PM scheduled first pitch. Radio coverage on 1460 AM The Ticket and www.senatorsbaseball.com begins at 6:45 PM.
