
Heat shut out by Stars

Abbotsford Heat News Release
ABBOTSFORD BC - Texas Stars goaltender Tyler Beskorowany would pick up his first shutout of the season as the Stars would spoil the party for the Heat with a 3-0 New Years Eve victory Friday night in AHL action at the Abbotsford Sports and Entertainment Centre.
The Stars would jump out to an early lead, as forward Fabian Brunnstrom would notch his second goal in as many nights just 57 seconds in to the first frame making it 1-0 Texas. Texas would pick up their second marker of the game on the power play at 11:57 of the first, as Raymand Sawada would tip in a point shot past Heat goaltender Leland Irving to give the Stars a 2-0 lead after the opening twenty minutes.
Mathieu Tousignant would put one in to the empty net to in the closing seconds to round out the scoring.
The Abbotsford Heat will return to the ice in the New Year on Monday January 3rd and Tuesday January 4th to face Vancouver Canucks affiliate, the Manitoba Moose.
