Canadiens Recall David Desharnais from Bulldogs

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that centre David Desharnais has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs to the Canadiens.

Desharnais, 24, leads the Bulldogs and the AHL in points with 45 (10 goals, 35 assists) in 35 games this season. The native of Quebec City ranks first in the AHL in assists with 35 and power-play assists with 20 while also leading the 'Dogs in plus/minus rating with a +14. Desharnais was named Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending December 26th. The 5-foot-7, 170-pound centre played in six games with Montreal last season recording one assist. Desharnais was signed as a free agent by the Canadiens on November 5, 2008.

The Bulldogs open 2011 on Saturday, January 1st for a 7:30 p.m. game in Cleveland against the Lake Erie Monsters. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
