BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Sharks battled back from two one goal deficits but could not battle back from a third as Worcester was swept in a home-and-home series vs. the Sound Tigers after a 3-2 loss in Bridgeport on Friday afternoon.

Jonathan Cheechoo scored his team leading 13th goal for the Sharks to extend his point streak to a season high six games (4-4-8) while Alex Stalock made 24 saves for Worcester. Cory Quirk tied the score at 2-2 in the third period but the first goal of the season by Sound Tigers' defenseman Dustin Friesen proved to be the game winner.

The Sound Tigers struck first on their second consecutive power play in the opening period as Jeremy Colliton (8th) deflected a shot from on top of the crease past Alex Stalock after a wrist shot by Mark Katic from the center point. Nick Petrecki and Michael Haley dropped the mitts at 10:05 followed by Mike Moore and Olivier Labelle at 17:56. The Sharks trailed 1-0 after the first period.

Jonathan Cheechoo (13th)extended his point streak to six games (4-4-8) after he stole the puck just inside the Sound Tigers blue line and broke in on net minder Kevin Poulin. Cheechoo deeked a shot between the circles and then ripped the puck top shelf to tie the score at 1-1. Worcester went into the dressing room after 40 minutes outshooting Bridgeport 24-17.

Rhett Rakhshani (11th) deflected a shot past Stalock on the power play to put the Sound Tigers ahead at 6:00 of the third period. But the Sharks responded just 29 seconds later, as Cory Quirk (2nd) tipped a shot by Justin Braun past Poulin at 6:29 to tie the score at 2-2. Dustin Friesen (1st) snuck in from the left point and took a great diagonal feed from Rhett Rakhshani and sent a one-timer past Stalock at 9:23. The Sharks would pull Stalock for the extra attacker but came up short in the 3-2 loss.

The Sharks record falls to 16-12-2-4 with 38 points and 8-7-1-3 away from the DCU Center. With the loss, the sharks fall into 5th place in the Atlantic Division.
