ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Brandon Rogers scored 2:43 into overtime to lead the Houston Aeros to a 5-4 win over the Abbotsford Heat in front of 3,660 fans in American Hockey League play at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre Saturday.

Two third period-goals less than one minute apart gave the HEAT a 4-3 lead. However, with less than two minutes left in the third period the Aeros tied the score 4-4 on a Duncan Milroy marker.

The Milroy goal forced the five-minute, four-on-four sudden death overtime period.

Abbotsford was coming off a 7-1 drubbing at the hands of the Aeros Friday.

Abbotsford got off to an early start as David VanderGulik got the HEAT on the board 1:17 into the first period. Josh Meyers, on the power play, also scored in the first period to give the home team a 2-0 lead.

Houston's Petr Kalus, Maxim Noreau and DiSalvatore each scored second-period power play goals to lift Minnesota Wild affiliate to a 3-2 lead after two periods.

The HEAT finish their eight game home stand with a 3-3-2 record and will now head out on the road for a three game trip to Texas, beginning next Friday versus the Texas Stars.
