Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford, BC - The Abbotsford Heat fell 4-1 to the Peoria Rivermen on Friday in the inaugural Canadian Forces Appreciation game at the AESC. It was the first time in three meetings that the Heat failed to earn a point against Peoria despite outshooting them 40-28 on the night.

Abbotsford's marker came off the stick of Joe Piskula who got his second goal of the season.

Leland Irving stopped 25 of the 28 shots he faced in his fourth straight start in goal for the Heat.

These two clubs will wrap-up their season series on Sunday afternoon in a "Pink in the Rink" game at the AESC in which the Heat will donate $5 of every ticket sold to The Run for the Cure in support of breast cancer research. Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00pm and the contest can be heard live at theahl.com or on Country 107.1.
