Barons to Try Their Hand at Rowing on the Oklahoma River

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons players and coaching staff are at the top of their profession when it comes to hockey. Wednesday afternoon at the Devon Boathouse, they are going to try their hand at rowing on the Oklahoma River.

From 3 - 5 p.m., Oklahoma City Barons players and coaches will be joined by athletes training for the upcoming Olympic Qualification trials for rowing. They will get a crash course in techniques used by the rowing athletes and even some friendly competition between the team members. Following the rowing lesson, the players will move to the water and will row for approximately 45 minutes.

Oklahoma City is in the stretch drive for the Calder Cup playoffs. They skate tonight at home against the Lake Erie Monsters and Tuesday against the Rockford IceHogs. Both games faceoff at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
