Heat Fall 3-2 to Moose in Shootout

March 25, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release

WINNIPEG MB - Eddie Lack was the difference maker on Friday night, stopping 45 of 47 shots, including three in the shootout, as the Manitoba Moose hung on to beat back the Abbotsford Heat 3-2, in the shootout, in AHL action on Friday night from the Manitoba capital.

Lack was in a word outstanding, as he turned aside 19 shots in the first period en route to the win, his 25th of the season and second over the Heat this year.

Mark Flood and Marco Rosa would score goals for the Moose in regulation, giving the Moose leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but Chris Breen on a Heat power play in the second period, and Carter Bancks, with a goal in his first game back after a 42 game absence due to a concussion, scored for the Heat.

Abbotsford hit four posts behind Lack...it was that kind of night as the Heat picked up one point and moved to within two points of a playoff berth in the jam-packed North Division.

The Abbotsford Heat will now go nationwide for their next game, this Sunday in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Moose. You can catch the pregame show on Country 107.1 FM at 9:45 AM with Dave Sheldon, and you can watch all the action of the game on CBC-TV as the Heat return to the ‘AHL on CBC', 10 AM this Sunday morning. The game as always can be heard on Country 107.1 at 10 AM with Dave Sheldon.
