Florida Panthers Recall Patrick Rissmiller from Rochester
March 25, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that LW Patrick Rissmiller has been recalled from the Rochester Americans.
Rissmiller, 32, earns his second call-up of the season. Rissmiller, who also just returned to Rochester yesterday after a stint with Florida, is presently riding a five-game point streak (2+5) and has collected a point in every game in an Amerk uniform since he arrived from Lake Erie at the NHL trade deadline. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound forward also skated in three games with Florida this season.
Acquired along with Nicklas Bergfors on February 28th for Radek Dvorak and a 2011 fifth round pick, Rissmiller posted a goal in six games with Chicago (AHL), 30 points (11+19) with Lake Erie and skated in one game for Atlanta this season. The Belmont, Mass., native has skated in 186 career NHL games with San Jose (2003-08), NY Rangers (2008-09), Atlanta and Florida (2010-11), recording 45 points (18+27) and 60 penalty minutes in those contests.
Rissmiller could see NHL action tonight when the Panthers faceoff against the Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m. at HSBC Arena in downtown Buffalo. The game is the fourth of a five-game road trip for the club, who is currently on a three-game winless streak.
The Amerks return to action tonight as they host Lake Erie Monsters at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be the seventh of eight scheduled meetings between the two teams this season and will be broadcast live on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.
