Fort Wayne, IN - The Wizards pitching staff under went changes today as left-hander Matt Handley was sent to Fort Wayne from the San Diego Padres High-A affiliate, Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League and right-hander Pablo Menchaca was sent to extended spring training in Peoria, Arizona.
Menchaca appeared in four games with the Wizards, going 1-0 with a 7.36 earned run average in 7 1/3 innings of relief work. He allowed 12 hits and issued one walk, while also striking out six batters.
Handley worked 11 2/3 innings for the Storm, going 1-0 with a 0.77 ERA in 10 relief appearances. He allowed three hits and issued nine walks, while striking out 11 batters.
Handley signed with the Padres as a non-drafted free agent in July of 2006 after pitching for Georgia State in college. He split time between Peoria and the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League last season, going a combined 2-0 with three saves a 2.40 ERA in 22 appearances, all in relief work.

WIZARDS GAME DAY INFORMATION
The Wizards wrap up their four game homestand against their in-state rival South Bend Silverhawks (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate) with a 6:00 p.m. game today and a 7:00 p.m. game on Friday.
Thursday's game is another Thirsty Thursday promotion, offering $2.00 20 oz. soft drinks and 16 oz. beers.
Friday's game will be the first of 15 post-game fireworks shows the Wizards will feature in 2007.
1st Source Bank and the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization sponsor all the games between the Wizards and Silverhawks in 2007.
