
'Hawks Recall Henry, Admirals Recall Balan

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â The Norfolk Admirals announced today that their parent club, the Chicago Blackhawks, has recalled defenseman Burke Henry. Additionally, the Admirals have recalled defenseman Scott Balan from their ECHL affiliate, the Florence Pride.
Henry has skated in 28 contests for Norfolk this year, registering six assists (six points), 41 penalty minutes and a minus-10 plus/minus rating. A free agent signing of Chicago's in 2002, the 24-year old blueliner made his NHL debut with the Blackhawks last season versus Phoenix on February 20, 2003. In 16 contests with Chicago in 2002-03, Henry posted two helpers (two points) and nine PIM.
Balan was drafted by Chicago in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He was assigned to Florence to start the 2003-04 campaign, and has recorded four points (four assists), 38 penalty minutes and a minus-12 plus/minus rating in 21 matches with the Pride. Balan saw action in 15 contests with the Blue and Gold last season, going scoreless with 27 PIM.
The Admirals are in action tonight against the Hershey Bears (Colorado Avalanche/Tampa Bay Lightning) at 7:30 p.m at Norfolk Scope. Tomorrow night, the Blue and Gold host the Philadelphia Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers), also at 7:30 p.m. Norfolk then will not play another game at Scope until after the Christmas holiday (December 27 versus Philadelphia, 7:30 p.m.).
