Kesler, 19, played in seven games with the Canucks since being recalled on November 23, 2003. In those seven games, he recorded one goal and one assist. The Livonia, MI. native has appeared in 16 games so far this season with the Moose, scoring two goals and five assists for seven points and 14 PIM.

Last season, Kesler played with Ohio State (CCHA) as a freshman, scoring 11 goals and 20 assists to rank fourth in scoring. He also participated in the 2003 IIHF World Junior Championship with Team USA and was second in team scoring with seven points. This was Kesler's first recall to the NHL in his career.

Kesler was Vancouver's first choice, 23rd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
