
Hawks Call-Up Squadron Forward Malcolm Hill

BIRMINGAHM, Ala. - The Atlanta Hawks announced today that they have signed Birmingham Squadron forward Malcolm Hill to a 10-day contract. Hill becomes the second player receive a Gatorade Call-Up to the NBA.
Hill (6-6, 220) played in all 14 games (12 starts) with the Squadron this season, averaging 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 steals in 31.6 minutes per game.
Hill proved to be an efficient shooter, making 86 of 167 attempts from the field for a percentage of .515, a percentage that ranks third in the G League (min. 150 attempts). The Belleville, Illinois native also shot .398 from behind the arc this season on 35 of 88 attempts, a percentage that ranks ninth in the G League among players with at least 75 attempts.
Against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (11/26/21), Hill notched a season-high 32 points, shooting 10-for-16 from the field and 8-for-11 from behind the arc. His eight made threes are tied for the third most in a single game in the league this season. He also added five stelas in the contest, becoming one of just two players in the G League this season to record 30+ points and 5+ steals in a single game.
Before coming to Birmingham, Hill played five seasons overseas in the Philippines, Germany, Kazakhstan and Israel. He has also seen action in 13 NBA Summer League contests over the course of three summers, having suited up for Oklahoma City (2017), Utah (2018) and New Orleans (2021), recording 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.1 minutes.
Hill played collegiately at the University of Illinois for four years (2013-17), appearing in 137 games (112 starts), owning career averages of 13.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 28.2 minutes (.433 FG%, .351 3FG%, .795 FT%). Hill finished his collegiate career ranked third on the school's all-time scoring list (1,846 points) and became only the second player in Illini history with career milestones of 1,800 points and 600 rebounds.
Atlanta is scheduled to play the Orlando Magic at home tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET. Hill will wear number 14 for the Hawks.
