
Hartzell Assigned to Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that goaltender Eric Hartzell has been assigned to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hartzell, 24, has posted a record of 10-7-1 for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.30 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and three shutouts. The rookie netminder has gone 4-4-1 with Wheeling, while compiling a 3.32 GAA and a .896 save percentage.
Hartzell was named USA Hockey College Player of the Year in 2013 as he helped Quinnipiac University reach the NCAA championship game after leading the Bobcats to the school's first-ever Frozen Four appearance this past spring at CONSOL Energy Center. The native of White Bear, Minnesota was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award after posting a 30-7-5 record, 1.57 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in 42 starts.
Wheeling will try to make it four consecutive victories as they face the Reading Royals today at 4:05pm.
The Penguins are off until a Friday evening meeting with the Syracuse Crunch on the road, and return home next Saturday to face the Utica Comets at 7:05pm.
