
Crunch Shut out in Albany

Syracuse, NY - The Albany Devils shut out the Syracuse Crunch 3-0 tonight at the Times Union Center in Albany.
The loss snaps a three-game point streak for the Crunch and brings the club's overall record to 24-27-4-6. The Devils lead the six-game season series 2-1-0-0 after three games.
Crunch netminder Cedrick Desjardins stopped 34 of 36 shots faced while his Devils counterpart Scott Wedgewood stopped all 13 shots he faced. Syracuse was unable to score on four power-play chances and the Devils converted one of their four man-advantage opportunities.
Raman Hrabarenka opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period. Hrabarenka's shot from the left-wing circle beat Desjardins with 3:07 to play in the first period. Kelly Zajac and Alexander Urbom were credited with assists on the goal.
After a scoreless second period Mike Sislo extended Albany's lead to 2-0 when he wristed a rebound past Desjardins with 5:15 to play in the final frame. Hrabarenka and Zajac each picked up their second point of the night by assisting Sislo's goal. Sislo added an empty-net goal with 21 seconds to play for the final margin of 3-0.
CRUNCHABLES: This is the fifth time this season the Crunch have been shut out...Thirteen shots on goal is a season-low for the Crunch, their previous low was 15 and came on December 10 against St. John's...Eric Neilson returned to the Crunch lineup in place of P.C. Labrie... Brett Connolly had a four-game point streak snapped...
