The Suns scored again in the third with a Francisco Soriano sacrifice fly to score Sandy Leon from third to go up 2-0.

Up to the fourth, Suns Trevor Holder had a perfect start. The GreenJackets got the bats going with a Chris Dominguez two-run double to left, sending Evan Crawford and Ryan Cavan home to tie the game. Three batters later, Augusta took the lead on a wild pitch that scored Dominguez to go up 3-2.

Next inning, the GreenJackets struck again on a Crawford single to center to score Sharlon Schoop for a 4-2 lead.

In the sixth, Hagerstown got runners of the corners with no outs on Heston. Souza doubled to center field, scoring Soriano and Sean Nicol to tie the game at four. Souza advanced to third on the throw home. The next batter, first baseman Justin Bloxom hit a double down the first base line to score Souza for a 5-4 lead.

Kyle Morrison (1-0), who came in relief of Holder in the beginning of the sixth, pitched three innings, not allowing a hit. Dean Weaver came and pitched a perfect ninth to secure the 2,000th win in Suns history 5-4.
