Grote Placed on DL, RiverDogs Add Milo

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Saturday that Charleston RiverDogs outfielder Taylor Grote has been placed on the 7-day DL with a lower-body injury, retroactive to April 30. Outfielder Justin Milo replaces Grote on the roster, added from Extended Spring Training.

Grote, a Texas native, was batting .242 with six runs, six RBI and one home run through his first 19 games this season. The Yankees' eighth round selection in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft opened the season with a five-game hit streak.

Milo, a 37th round pick of the Yankees in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, played in 32 games combined in 2009, seven with the GCL Yankees followed by 25 with the Staten Island Yankees. The former University of Vermont standout batted .256 with 15 runs, 15 RBI and two home runs in his time between the two clubs last year.
