Adirondack Frostbite News Release

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced today that goaltender Derek Gustafson has been loaned to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. Gustafson will be in uniform for the Crunch's home games this weekend against Binghamton and Rochester.

Gustafson has played 103 career IHL and AHL games with the Cleveland Lumberjacks and Houston Aeros, posting a record of 51-34-9. This will be Gustafson's first AHL stint since he appeared in 41 games with the Aeros in the 2002-03 season. That year, he was named to the AHL All-Star Team, and helped lead the Aeros to the Calder Cup Championship.

Gustafson becomes the fifth player from the Frostbite to receive a call-up this season, joining Mike Berry and Kevin Watters (Binghamton), Ryan Bennett (Portland), and Lyon Porter (Syracuse).

The Frostbite have signed Glens Falls native Dan McGuire to serve as back-up goaltender this weekend.

Adirondack opens its three-game weekend tonight with a 7:30 p.m. face-off in Danbury against the Trashers. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:10.

The Frostbite return home on Sunday, hosting the Richmond RiverDogs at 5:15 p.m. It's another Family Four Pack Night, with four tickets, four slices of pizza, and four sodas just $50.
