
Gulls Release Taker and Lerg from PTOs

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Gulls announced today that defenseman Shayne Taker and goaltender Jeff Lerg have been released from their Professional Try Outs (PTO).
Taker, 25 (2/12/90), made his San Diego debut on Dec. 5 @ Stockton, going scoreless with a +1 rating. The 6-4, 207-pound blueliner is scoreless in 10 career AHL games. The Vancouver, BC, native recorded 1-3=4 points in 16 games with Utah (ECHL) prior to his PTO.
Lerg, 29 (4/9/86), made his AHL debut with San Diego on Dec. 4 @ Bakersfield. The 5-6, 155-pound netminder stopped 11-of-11 shots faced in relief of Ryan Faragher. A native of Livonia, MI, Lerg appeared in 10 games with Toledo (ECHL) prior to his PTO, posting a 2.04 goals-against average (GAA) and a .924 save-percentage (SV%).
