
Amerks to Collect Toys for the Pirate Toy Fund at Home Games on December 18 and 19

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today the team will collect toys for the Pirate Toy Fund at the Amerks home games on Friday, Dec. 18 versus the Hartford Wolf Pack (7:05 p.m. start) and Saturday, Dec. 19 against the Albany Devils (7:35 p.m. start) at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys in the Pirate Toy Fund donation boxes located in The Blue Cross Arena lower atrium prior to the Dec. 18 and 19 games. Any fan that donates a toy will receive a complimentary ticket voucher to the Amerks home game on Wednesday, Jan. 27 against the Syracuse Crunch.
Amerks players, led by defenseman Chad Ruhwedel, will also purchase toys to donate to the Pirate Toy Fund.
The Pirate Toy Fund is raffling off a 1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback this month to benefit the Fund. Tickets will be available at the Pirate Toy Fund Table at the games on Dec. 18 and 19, with the drawing taking place Dec. 21.
About Pirate Toy Fund: Founded in 1995, the Pirate Toy Fund collects and supplies new toys year-round to over 70 agencies that provide aid and comfort to thousands of children in need throughout the Greater Rochester region. In 2016, the Pirate Toy Fund will reach a milestone of giving away over 250,000 toys since its inception.
