Clinton, IA - The Clinton LumberKings won their fourth walk-off victory of the season, a 6-5 win over the Burlington Bees on Thursday night at Ashford University Field. Gaby Guerrero bounced an infield single in the bottom of the ninth to score Patrick Kivlehan for the game-winning run.

The LumberKings scored first with a pair of runs in the first inning. Dario Pizzano and Guillermo Pimentel came home to score to put Clinton up 2-0. Pizzano contributed again in the second inning, this time with an RBI single to score Taylor Ard to make it 3-1.

Scott DeCecco surrendered the lead in the fourth inning. The LumberKings' starter gave up three runs in the fourth inning as Burlington took a 5-3 lead. DeCecco exited in the fifth with the bases loaded and none away. The LumberKings turned to David Holman who worked his way out of the bases-loaded jam with a strikeout and a line drive double play.

Clinton tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with the help of a couple Burlington mistakes. An error by shortstop Chance Ross started off the inning as Pimentel reached. Gaby Guerrero later reached first on a dropped third strike as a wild pitch skipped away from Sandy Martinez. With the bases loaded, Taylor Ard drew an RBI walk to score Pimentel and knot the game 5-5.

The relievers held strong for both teams until the bottom of the ninth. Patrick Kivlehan led off with a single to right-center. After a sacrifice bunt and a groundout, Kivlehan stood at third base with Guerrero at the plate. Guerrero bounced a single deep into the hole at short. Chance Ross could not make the play as Kivlehan scored the winning run.

Grady Wood and David Holman combined for five shutout innings, allowing one hit between them. Wood picked up the win, improving to 2-1 on the year. Reid Scoggins pitched well in relief for Burlington, but he took the loss to move to 0-2.

The LumberKings and Bees will conclude their three-game series on Friday night. Clinton sends right-hander Dylan Unsworth (3-0, 2.49) to the mound for the series finale while Burlington counters with right-hander Aaron Newcomb (1-1, 4.23). First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM CT. Fans can enjoy a post-game Fireworks spectacular at Ashford University Field.
