Guenin Recalled by Blue Jackets

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that defenseman Nate Guenin has been recalled by their National Hockey League affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Guenin will join Columbus for their game tonight in Minnesota.

Guenin has appeared in all four of Springfield's games this season not registering a point and a +1 plus/minus rating.

Guenin, 27, has registered two assists and six penalty minutes in 14 career NHL games with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh during his four-year professional career. Last season, he appeared in two games with the Penguins and combined to tally 5-13-18, 98 penalty minutes and was +11 in 68 AHL games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Peoria Rivermen, including 2-11-13, 35 penalty minutes and +14 in 27 games after joining Peoria. He has tallied two penalty minutes and is +1 in four games with Springfield this season and has collected 12-49-61, 433 penalty minutes in 279 career AHL games.

The Falcons continue their road trip on Saturday night when they play the Portland Pirates in Portland, Maine, followed by heading to Manchester, New Hampshire on Sunday to take on the Monarchs for a 3 pm matinee.
