Grrrowl drop 5-2 decision in Greensboro Friday night

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Generals spotted the visiting Greenville Grrrowl a 1-0 lead, rallied for two straight goals, then went to the locker room in a 2-2 tie after 40 minutes. The Generals added three unanswered goals in the third period to post a 5-2 win.

MATT DEMARSKI extended his point-scoring streak to 11 games (2-14-16 pts.) with a powerplay goal at 2:31 of the first period to give Greenville a 1-0 lead. A first period goal by Vlad Serov at 17:01, and a second period goal by Jay Murphy at 3:09 gave Greensboro a 2-1 lead. JONATHAN ROY scored a powerplay goal with just 4.6 seconds remaining in the second, and the game was tied at 2-2 after two. Three third period goals for the Generals capped the 5-2 win for Greensboro.

Generals leading scorer Sam Ftorek was given a game misconduct for not having his jersey tied down after an altercation with DAVE KACZOWKA at 5:20 of the first period.

The Grrrowl return home to host Ryan Stewart and the Florida Everblades tomorrow night (Saturday) at the BI-LO Center (7:05 PM, Teddy Bear Toss to benefit Toys for Tots).
