Fresno Falcons News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. â The Fresno Falcons still cannot solve the Bakersfield Condors as they remain winless in seven tries following a 5-2 loss Friday night at Centennial Garden.
Bakersfield jumped all over Fresno in the opening 10 minutes of the contest with Jason Ralph, Nate Anderson and Jamie Cooke staking the Condors to a 3-0 lead. Fresno then seemed to wake up just a bit following a goaltending switch and a fight between Brad Both and Bakersfield's Jordan Roach. Tyler Prosofsky got the club on the board with an unassisted goal at 12:50 of the first and Glen Gulutzan followed less than two minutes later with his first of the season to narrow the gap to 3-2. Paul Willett would give the Condors some added cushion heading into the second with his ninth of the year off a deflection at 18:14.
Despite several good chances for both clubs in the second neither team lit the lamp. Christian Skoryna then added all the insurance the Condors would need 5:41 into the third with his first goal of the season against his former team.
The loss drops Fresno to 8-9-2 on the season. Their 18 points are good for fifth place in the league, four points behind the fourth place Long Beach Ice Dogs.
The Falcons continue on the road tomorrow night when they travel to San Diego to battle the Gulls. The game can be heard on 103.1 FM, The Mountain Cat, beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the Mail Boxes, Etc. Pre-game Show. Fresno then returns home on Tuesday, Dec. 17, to face the Anchorage Aces. The game begins at 7 p.m. and is a Carl's Jr. Two-for-Tuesday. Fans can stop by participating Carl's Jr. Restaurants to pick-up a two-for-one coupon good for Tuesday's game.
