Grizzlies To Celebrate Diversity During Monday Afternoon Game

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies, in conjunction with American Family Insurance, will celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 20th when they host the Milwaukee Admirals. The game will begin at a special afternoon face-off time of 1:00 PM.

The game will not only focus on the action on the ice but will also educate and celebrate diversity not only in the world of hockey but also in the State of Utah.

"We are excited to be hosting a special day game in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King and all that he represents," said Grizzlies President David Gasaway.

In working with the State of Utah's Human Rights Commission and the Salt Lake City chapter of the NAACP, the Grizzlies and American Family Insurance are proud to host a variety of MLK?Award winning schools, businesses and civic organizations as our guests. Special between period ceremonies will take place to celebrate the diversity and togetherness Dr. King stood for."

The Grizzlies celebrate diversity every day on their playing roster. Currently the team has players from four different countries (United States, Canada, Sweden and Russia).
