Ianiero to Test Skills in Hardest Shot and Breakaway Relay Competition

The Dayton Bombers Professional Hockey Team has announced that rookie forward Andrew Ianiero, who will be representing the Northern Conference at the 2003 Compuware ECHL All-Star Game to take place this coming Tuesday, January 21 at TECO Arena in Estero, Florida (7:30 p.m.), will participate in two events during the All-Star Skills Competition, which will occur on Monday, January 20.

Ianiero, who turned 22 last Friday, is scheduled to take part in both the Hardest Shot Event and in a Breakaway Relay with five other Northern Conference shooters pitted against Pee Dee Pride netminder Matt Underhill.

Ianiero, who was the Bombers' top rookie goal and point producer in the month of November (7-3-10), played the last four seasons with the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League. He scored over 20 goals in each of his four seasons with Kingston. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Ianiero was originally a draft pick of the Ottawa Senators (5th round, 154th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft.

The Bombers' next home game will be this coming Sunday, January 19 against the Chiefs (6:00 p.m.). There will be a pre-game skate from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on another Kids' Club Sunday (presented by Capn' Bogey's) at the Nutter Center. The Bombers will play a pair of road games before Sunday. The team will play at Toledo on Friday, January 17 and at Wheeling on Saturday, January 18. Both games are at 7:30 p.m. (7:15 p.m. broadcast time on www.daytonbombers.com).
