MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE - The biggest mystery of the season for the Utah Grizzlies has been how to solve the Manchester Monarchs who won their fourth game in a many chances against Utah by a final score of 5-1. This season, Manchester outscored the Grizzlies by a combined 22-4 margin in the four games. Brad Smyth and Noah Clarke each scored a pair of goals and Michael Cammalleri had three helpers leading the Monarchs to the triumph.

Manchester has outscored the Grizzlies 11-0 in the last two games and picked up where they left off less than a minute into the period when Brad Smyth took a pass from Yanick Lehoux and buried it behind Grizzlies rookie goaltender Frank Doyle. Jeff Giuliano and Lehoux had assists for Manchester, for Lehoux it was his league-leading 50th point. Manchester added to their lead when Giuliano took advantage of a bounce in front of Doyle and scored his fourth goal of the season assisted by Jason Holland and Lehoux at the 4:37 mark of the period. The Monarchs would hit the trifecta when Smyth found himself all alone in the slot on the power play scoring his 10th goal of the season and second of the game assisted by Michael Cammalleri and Dustin Brown at the 18:04 mark finishing the first 20 minutes with a 3-0 lead. Manchester outshot the Grizzlies 14-10 in the frame as Doyle made 11 saves in his first AHL start.

Dustin Brown and Cammalleri had assists on Clarke's third goal of the year against Utah. Manchester outshot Utah 11-6 in the period as Mathieu Garon remained perfect turning aside everything he had faced through two periods.

The Monarchs pushed their lead to five goals in the third period when Clarke scored another power play goal, his 12th goal of the season, assisted by Cammallerri and Brown at the 57 second mark of the third period. Utah broke up over 170 minutes of shutout hockey to the monarchs at the 7:52 mark of the period when Peter Metcalf took a great pass from Jarrod Skalde and lifted it over Mathieu Garon for his second goal in as many games assisted by Martin Sonnenberg and Skalde on the power play.

Manchester outshot the Grizzlies 34-26 as Pelletier made 18 saves in relief of Doyle and Garon won his 17th game of the season making 25 saves. Manchester went 3 for 10 on the power play making them 9 for 29 on the season versus Utah with the man advantage.
