
Grizzlies Pull Away from Isotopes in 10-4 Win

NEED TO KNOW: The Fresno Grizzlies (70-48) pulled away from the Albuquerque Isotopes (51-68) in a 10- 4 win Thursday night at Isotopes Park. Outfielder Jeremy Barfield mashed his third home run of the season since joining the Isotopes.
THE TURNING POINT: After the Grizzlies jumped out to a 3-0 lead through an inning and a half, outfielder Jeremy Barfield knotted the game with a three-run home run off the video board in left field. Fresno and Albuquerque traded runs in the fourth, but the Grizzlies managed to pull away with a pair of runs in the fourth and a trio in the fifth. The Isotopes never scratched across more runs, and Fresno added an insurance tally in the seventh.
ALL FIELDS BARFIELD: Outfielder Jeremy Barfield blasted his third home run since joining the Isotopes. He finished the game 3-for-3 with a run scored, three RBI and a homer. Since joining the Isotopes, Barfield has faced the Grizzlies in three games and is now 6-for-9 with a homer, a run scored and three RBI. It was his third home run, seventh extra-base hit and 12th RBI in 20 games with Albuquerque.
SHADES AND BIRDZERK! ON FRIDAY: The first 3,000 fans to Friday night's 7:05 homestand finale will receive a free pair of sunglasses courtesy of Albuquerque the Magazine. Fan-favorite BirdZerk! will also be on hand for a performance.
ROCKIES REAL TIME, ISOTOPES EPISODE: Rockies Real Time on ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain will feature the Isotopes in their show following Friday night's Rockies game. The show will highlight much of Albuquerque's recent homestand, including the McDonald's Youth Skills Clinic, right-handed pitcher Boone Whiting's hot air balloon ride and several one-on-one interviews with Isotopes players.
ON DECK: The Isotopes and Grizzlies will play the finale of their four-game series Friday at 7:05. Right- handed pitcher Boone Whiting (3-6, 6.06 ERA) is slated to start for Albuquerque, while Fresno is scheduled to go with left-hander Brett Oberholtzer (5-3, 4.20 ERA) on the mound.
IN THE HOLE: Following their nine-game, 10-day homestand, the Isotopes will hit the road for an eight-game road trip to Memphis and Nashville beginning August 15.
