The Situation

The Grizzlies enter the week with a three-game winning streak and a record of 22-10-3-1. Not only are the Grizzlies still leading the Western Conference, but they have also tied the Greenville Road Warriors for the top spot in the ECHL as well.

As Of Late

Utah is 7-1 since Christmas and 11-4-1-0 in their last 16 games. The Grizzlies lead the league with 15 road wins and are 6-2-1-0 in their last nine home games.

Halfway Through

Utah is exactly 36 games into the 72-game season and 12 games above .500 for the first time since April 3, 2002 when they were 40-28-6-4 as they wrapped up the last week of their AHL schedule.

Goaltender Comparison

Andrew Engelage went 3-0 this past week for Utah with 1.68 goals-against-average and a .937 save percentage one week after J.P. Lamoureux went 2-0 with two shutouts and 50 saves.

Engelage Update

With J.P. Lamoureux recalled to the AHL, Engelage will handle all of the goaltending for Utah. He enters the week fifth in the ECHL with a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage which ranks second. Engelage has won seven-straight starts and is unbeaten in ten-straight starts dating back to November 12. Overall, he is 12-3-2-1.

Reloading From The AHL

Hugo Carpentier rejoined Utah and 21-year-old rookie Giffen Nyren was assigned to Utah last week from the Calgary Flames AHL affiliate in Abbotsford. Carpentier had one goal and four assists in four games. Nyren had one goal and two assists in his first week for the Grizzlies.

Everyone Chipping In

Utah had 14 of 16 skaters score at least a point last week and had 12 players record at least two points in four games. Marcus Carroll led the Grizzlies with three goals and three assists for six points.

Power-Play Breaks Out

Utah's league-leading power-play broke a 1-21 stretch entering the two games in Ontario by going six-for-12 on the power-play Friday and Saturday.

Idaho

Utah is 4-3 with Idaho this year and that ties their season-high win total against the Steelheads. Entering this year, Utah has won four games against Idaho in three-straight seasons, and has never won a season series against Idaho.

Lots of Idaho

Utah plays game three of six scheduled games in January Wednesday against Idaho. Utah split two games in Boise last week and returns to Idaho for a Wednesday, Friday, Saturday series again next week.

Stockton

Utah and Stockton have played a pair of 3-2 games this year in Stockton, with each operation holding one victory.
