Walleye Notes

One Win, One Loss Week: The Walleye defeated Reading 4-3 Friday night at the Huntington Center and lost 5-3 in Wheeling on Sunday to finish out a short week.

Overtime Magic! Toledo dominated Reading in shots Friday night (47-20), but needed a Sal Peralta goal at 1:53 to collect the win. With the win, Toledo is now 2-2 in overtime games this year.

Captain Red Light! Walleye Forward Dominic Osman has scored a goal in four straight games for the Walleye. This streak is the longest by any Walleye player this year. Osman has also scored a goal in five of the last six games, and he has scored six goals this season.

Shots, Shots, and more Shots: Toledo outshot Reading Friday night 47-20, and it is was the 22nd time this year that the Walleye have had the shot advantage.

Gametime! Toledo has a busy week going this week as the team will play four games in five days in four different cities. The week starts with a Wednesday home game against Elmira in the Huntington Center. Toledo is 0-2-0-0 against the Jackals this season. Friday will mark the first time this year that Toledo will be in Reading. The Walleye have a record of 1-0-0-1 against the Atlantic leading Royals. Saturday night, the Walleye will visit Trenton. The Devils have bested the Walleye in both of the previous meetings this season.

Promotions! Tuesday night is another edition of the Toledo Walleye Coaches Show, 6-7pm at Pizza Papalis in Downtown Toledo. Walleye forward Kyle Rogers and BCSN analyst Bruce Johnson will join Head Coach Nick Vitucci and voice of the Walleye Matt Melzak.
