Utah battled back to tie with 1:23 left in the first period as James Sixsmith extended his scoring streak to eleven games, firing a slapshot as he crossed the blueline for his 17th goal of the year to tie the game at one.

Alaska took a 2-1 lead at 13:28 of the second period as McBride hacked in his own rebound as the Grizzlies struggled to clear the puck in their own end.
