
Springfield Recalls G Andrew Perugini

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, announced Springfield has recalled goaltender Andrew Perugini (pair-uh-JEE-nee) from the Thunder.
Perugini, 21, will join the Falcons roster today, who host the Binghamton Senators at 4:30 p.m.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound goaltender has twice earned the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week award in his career, once this season (Feb. 8-14) and is 17-11-3 in 35 games this season, ranking second in ECHL save percentage (.916), tied for fourth in goals-against-average (2.70) while adding a career high three shutouts.
In 72 career games with the Thunder, spanning the last two seasons (2008-10), he has posted a 38-24-7 record,.912 save percentage,.276 goals-against-average and five shutouts.
Perugini is making his second trip to the AHL this season and in four games with Springfield, he has amassed a record of 0-3-1 with a 4.04 goals-against-average and.874 save percentage.
The Thunder announced goaltender Matt Pamidi has been signed to the club's roster on an emergency backup basis.
The Thunder returns to play tonight at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings beginning at 7:30 p.m. (broadcast coverage at www.StocktonThunder.com) at Stockton Arena.
A two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder was voted "Best Local Sports Team" by readers of the San Joaquin Magazine, has led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew 223,854 fans to Stockton Arena in 2008-09.
