Grizzlies Fall 3-1 In Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Las Vegas Wranglers scored two third period goals to defeat the Utah Grizzlies 3-1 Friday at the Orleans Arena.

Tom May scored Utah's only goal 18:40 into the first period to tie the game at one as Ryan Kinasewich picked up the lone assist.

The game remained scoreless until the 5:11 mark of the third when Adam Miller knocked home a puck. The Wranglers added an insurance power-play goal with 2:21 remaining to put the game away.

Goaltender Mike Mole stopped 26 of 29 shots in his 27th-straight start. Newcomer Robert Gherson is expected to start in goal for Utah Saturday.

Utah lost for just the second time this year when outshooting an opponent on the road. They beat the Wranglers 32-29 on the shot board after a 15-9 effort in the third period.

The Grizzlies and Wranglers rematch Saturday at the Orleans Arena. Face-off is again scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Utah returns home to open a four-game in five-night home stand Tuesday, January 6 when they will host the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m.
