Dayton Bombers News Release

Trenton, NJ- The Dayton Bombers lost their second game in as many nights to the Trenton Devils, this time 8-2, thanks in part to a six-goal second period by Trenton on Saturday night.

The Bombers again opened the game with the first goal, this time from veteran Kelly Perrault in just his second game with Dayton. He was assisted on the play by Danny LaPointe and Mike McLean. However, the lead would be short lived as the Devils would net two goals in the period to take the lead into the locker room. The Bombers, however, were outshooting Trenton 16-10 in the first.

Trenton would explode for six goals in the second, a franchise record, as David Leaderer led the charge with two goals of his own. The Bombers would cut the lead by one when McLean netted his 13th of the year from Justin Bowers and Perrault. Bombers netminder Paul Drew, making his third straight start for Dayton, would face 15 shots from the Devils, compared to 17 by the Bombers on Trenton's Gerard Coleman, in the period.

The Bombers offensive push would continue in the third, although Coleman would again refuse all 10 Dayton shots he saw in the frame. Drew denied each of the nine Devils shots he faced in the period.

Overall, the Bombers outshot the Devils 43-34 and finished the night 0 for 6 on the power play. The Devils were 2 of 3 with the man advantage.

Dayton will face off against the Reading Royals in a 1:05 matinee tomorrow afternoon to conclude their three-game road trip.
