Bakersfield, California - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies 2-1 in a shootout in a goaltending battle Wednesday night in Bakersfield.
With the point in the standings, Utah clinches their sixth-straight playoff appearance as they run their unbeaten streak to four games at 2-0-1-1. They also improve to 4-2-1-2 in their last nine games.
After trailing 1-0 for 36:29 after a first period power-play goal by Bakersfield, Utah tied the game 6:38 into the third period on Colin Vock's team leading 23rd goal of the year with Adam Estoclet and Martin Lee picking up assists on the rush up ice. Gaelan Patterson was also right on top of the net waiting for a chance too as Vock scored.
Utah's goal came on their 30th shot of the night after they outshot the Condors 43-36 in the game and 34-17 over the final two periods. Bakersfield goaltender Brian Stewart stopped 42 of 43 shots through overtime and all five Utah looks in the shootout.
