Wranglers to Honor ECHL Hall of Fame Goalie
March 14, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - In honor of his induction into the ECHL Hall of Fame this past January, the Las Vegas Wranglers will formally recognize former goaltender Marc Magliarditi in a special ceremony during the team's game on Tuesday, March 19.
Magliarditi ("Mag-lee-ar-dih-tee"), 36, spent his final four seasons of professional hockey with the Wranglers, appearing in 146 games from 2003-07. A sixth-round NHL draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1995, Magliarditi leads the ECHL with 25 career shutouts and is only the second goaltender to be named to the league's Hall of Fame. The Niagara Falls, N.Y. native is second behind 2008 Hall of Fame goaltender inductee Nick Vitucci with 217 career wins and 21,154 minutes played. Magliarditi earned an 83-45-14 record in four seasons with Las Vegas.
"It's a big honor to be a part of any hall of fame," said Magliarditi. "It kind of helped me put a stamp or an exclamation point on my career."
"I know tons of goalies have come through this league, and many have gone on to the NHL and been successful, so this gives me something to look back on and appreciate. I gave it everything I could at this level."
Magliarditi will be presented with a commemorative plaque on the ice during the game's first intermission, and will sign autographs on the concourse in the second intermission.
Along with the presentation, the first 1,000 fans at the 7:05 p.m. game will receive a free Wranglers 10th anniversary all-time team poster, featuring Magliarditi alongside other fan favorites and club record setters. Wranglers center Judd Blackwater will also receive a banner for being named the AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performer of the Month before the game. The second-year center led the ECHL with a plus-minus rating of +13 through the month of February.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
