Visentin Assigned from AHL Portland

Goaltender Mark Visentin has been assigned to the Gladiators from the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League by the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League.

Visentin has appeared in 22 games with the Pirates this season and has earned a 2.85 goals against average and a .915 save percentage in the AHL. He has notched two shutouts, a 1-0 win over the Connecticut Whale on December 15th and a 2-0 win over Albany on February 2nd.

The Waterdown, Ontario native skated four seasons with the Niagara IceDogs of the Ontario Hockey League from 2008-2012. He notched a 2.75 goals against average and a .911 save percentage in 166 career junior games with Niagara. He also recorded an 89-55-16 record in four seasons with the IceDogs.

Visentin also represented Canada in the World Junior Championships in 2011 and 2012. He twice won a medal with Team Canada as he collected a Silver metal in 2011 and a Bronze metal in 2012 in eight career games in the World Junior Championships.

He was selected by the Phoenix Coyotes with the 27th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
