
Grizzlies Beat Phoenix 3-1; Tally 60 Shots

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies scored three-straight goals on their way to a 3-1 win over the Phoenix RoadRunners Tuesday night at the E-Center. The Grizzlies recorded an all-time team record with 60 shots in the game.
Utah (11-9-0-2) is now unbeaten in nine of their last ten games and currently 3-0-0-2 on their current ten-game home stand.
After Phoenix took a 1-0 lead 51 seconds into the period, Utah tied the game with Jason Pitton scoring his fourth goal of the season as he extended his scoring streak to three games.
Utah took the lead with Trevor Smith (7) scoring a goal on a penalty shot at 10:24 of the second period.
Smith (8) added an insurance goal with 1:16 left to go in the game to preserve the win.
Nathan Lawson stopped 22 of 23 shots to improve to 3-0-0-0 with Utah and 6-2-0-0 overall. The rookie started the year with Phoenix going 3-2-0-0.
Trevor Smith tied an all-time team record with 13 shots in the game. The Grizzlies tallied 22 shots in the first, 17 in the second and 21 in the third.
The Grizzlies are now off until Wednesday, December 12 when they host Las Vegas at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
