
Former Wrangler Adam Pardy called up to NHL

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that Calgary Flames (NHL) General Manager Darryl Sutter has recalled defenseman Adam Pardy from the Quad City Flames (AHL).
In 24 games this season for Quad City, Pardy has scored two goals adding six assists for eight points. The Calgary Flames will host the St. Louis Blues tonight at the Pengrowth Saddledome, game time is 7:00pm. The stay-at-home defenseman spent part of the 2005-06 season with Las Vegas, playing in 41 games, scoring one goal and assisting on 11 others for 12 points. Pardy also added 55 penalty minutes to go along with a +10 rating. The Bonavista, NF native scored twice and added an assist for three points in ten playoff games in 2005-06. In 159 career games, the 23-year old blueliner has four goals and 23 assists for 27 points, to go along with 155 penalty minutes
Pardy becomes the first Wranglers skater to receive a call-up to the National Hockey League. Former Las Vegas goalie Dany Sabourin became the first former Wrangler recalled to the National Hockey League on January 11, 2006 when the Pittsburgh Penguins summoned Sabourin to play against Columbus. Sabourin spent the 2006-07 season in Vancouver as a back-up to Roberto Luongo. This season, the former Wrangler goalie is 4-4-1 with a 2.38 goals against average for Pittsburgh. Sabourin had appeared in the NHL before his stint with the Wranglers.
Las Vegas will embark on a five-game road trip with stops in Stockton and Utah. Las Vegas will play in Stockton on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm.
